The winning project utilized the foundation of an existing sunroom as a starting point to add an additional conventional room using casement windows and skylights. In addition to the sunroom work, three round bubble windows were replaced with custom round, flat units and two patio doors. Existing window units were adjusted and reused, saving the owner thousands in replacement costs. Vinyl siding was installed with a R-5 insulating factor. The furnance and air conditioner were replaced with energy-efficient units and balanced the system. The home is now more consistent in temperature from room to room. Less draft and less expensive to heat.
